The Fall Season has many volunteer opportunities:
Anne Arundel County Rec and Parks Triathlon
Annapolis Community Boating provides kayaks for safety personnel to patrol the swim portion of the triathlon. Paddlers do not need to be rescue personnel, they only need to be the eyes watching the swimmers. It’s an early morning start at 7:00 to unpack the trailer and get on the water about 7:30. The start of the race is at 8:00 and swimmers will be swimming until 9:00. Once the swimmers are done the kayaks can be reloaded on the trailer to return to Annapolis.
US Sailboat Show
This year Annapolis Community Boating has a dock to operate from at the Annapolis Sailboat Show. On our dock we will have canoes and kayaks available for exploring the boat show from the water. There will also be the return of the Lizard Lounge. The Lizard Lounge is a comfortable place to relax under and umbrella in a Adarondak chair and hydrate. We will need 2 volunteers at all times in the booth. Volunteering grants you a pass into the boat show for the day.
MRE Tug of War
What is a Tug of War? About 10 years ago the Eastport Penisula succeeded from Annapolis when the Eastport Bridge was closed for major repair. Since this time there is an annual rebellion between the two entities known as the Tug of War. A rope is stretched across the Annapolis Harbor from Eastport to Annapolis. Both sides fight in many heats to become the winner of the year. Annapolis Community Boating is helping the Eastport side with volunteers. Volunteers can be tuggers, bartenders, or organizational folks. Come join the fun on this day.
