The FreeSails are ACB’s bid to open the doors to boating to everyone in the region. We offer four-hour sessions with basic instruction, then three hours on the water with instructors. The program started in 2009 and was booked through the year, with over 450 people attending.
FreeSails are not aimed at any particular group. We’ve had kids, grandmothers, families, single parents, soldiers from Ft. Meade, an ex-NFL football player, two Croatian researchers from Johns Hopkins. The only thing they have in common is an interest in boats and the water but little or no experience or access.
